I want to thank those of you who helped with the 2014 Earl Yerrick Static Display at the Hamilton-Owens Airport on Saturday, 12 April.  I especially want to convey a special thank you to the members of the Lexington Composite Squadron who also came out to support us.  We could not have completed the mission without your assistance.

All total there were 5 Senior Members and 11 Cadets who participated.  Our primary duty was to insure the visiting public did not venture out onto the active flight line and taxi ways, as well as clear the area for those aircraft that moved into the static display area.  This was especially critical when the Medevac and Lexington County Sheriff helicopters had to depart on real-world missions.  In addition, recruiting table was set up and one of our aircraft (635CP) was on display as members talked about the mission of the CAP.

At the end of the event, Eagle Aviation and CUB airport personnel conveyed to me how impressed they were with the professional attitude of the cadets and look forward to working with us in future endeavors.

Thank you, again, to all those who supported this mission.

James W. Lamb, Major, CAP

Commander

Columbia Composite Squadron
